Blogger is definitely loved by google, its easy to set up and doesnt require much work. A simple link from a blogger blog can even help your main website. A wordpress blog will take longer to get traffic. Im currently making blogger blogs for my favorite keywords. It will be hard but I plan to post once a day. I have wordpress blogs too but they do require a good amount of traffic to start seeing results from google. If you decide you want to use blogger I suggest posting atleast once a day and dont forget to use good keywords in your titles and tags. A good blogger keyword title and about 10 posts can set your blogger blog to a good start.
WordPress has its advantages with all of the plugins you can use. It takes some time to learn but well worth it. A wordpress blog begins with a 0 page rank and blogger blogs have a great page rank to begin with. You just have to remember you are taking a chance with a free blog because you do not own it and it can be taken down at any time.
A wordpress blog with a good keyword title and 10 posts can also get love from google and it is owned by you.
Why not use both? It doesnt hurt to have as many ways as possible for your readers to find you. You can even create a blog on tumblr, free wordpress, blogger, squidoo, hubpages, weebly, and there are more! Its a lot of work but well worth it!
