“Write Articles to Get Traffic! –
Now here we come to the way to drive the traffic to your site as well as write articles for your own site. I personally know only the basics and am at no means an “expert” at this (but I know a lot now
), it is working for me and I know a lot of people are using these same strategies to make money and get traffic. The company that thought me how to drive traffic to my site and is pretty much responsible for my success and they are AFFILORAMA. I can only show you the basics but it will be up to you to expand and learn more as the time goes on.
I am cheap so I write articles to drive traffic to my site. I personally love ezinearticles.com because their articles can get you a lot of traffic to your site! But there are other good articles sites such as http://www.AssociateContent.com, they will even pay you a small fee per each article you write that has certain number of viewings. For them, you articles need to be at least 400 words long but you can make a little extra money for your efforts. Read their guidelines carefully to find out more. Another place you can post your articles is at http://eHow.com and they will also pay you a small fee per each article that gets viewed a lot!
You will also need to create a lens at squidoo.com (I love squidoo, because it is user friendly)
I will show you what I do with squidoo and how I advertise my website with them in next lesson!
Everything I mentioned above is free of charge. The only other service I pay for is usfreeads.com they are really good with getting your ad listed in 24-48 hours, plus if an ad is imputed correctly you can get some traffic to your site. Let say you had 100 ads out and if each ad brought in 1 person that is extra 100 people you would have at your site!
Articles bring in a steady flow of traffic, but it is not always the traffic that is at the last leg of the purchasing cycle. The usfreeads.com bring in the traffic that is actually searching for those products to purchase.
IF You DO NOT know how to write articles, go to ezine articles and research their database. That is the easiest way!
Keywords for website and for article:
You remember that keyword research we did in the last lesson? O.k. Let me explain what a little more about it… your website is going to try and rank high for products people search for. So if you are selling baby carriers, you do not want to rank high for generic keyword such as baby carrier, but rather with baby bjorn baby carrier. Each of your pages will have around 3 keyword phrases. For example…The main one is Discounted baby bjorn baby carrier, the second may be baby bjorn black carrier and third one would be blue baby bjorn carrier. (of course these is per your research)
But when you write articles you need to have long keywords and information keywords. For example…What is the difference between baby bjorn baby carrier and baby ergo baby carrier. Or Baby bjorn VS. Baby Ergo. These people are getting toward the last leg of the purchasing cycle, so you need to really give them quality information one vs. another.
So your goal is to have 5 articles on your site (to start with) and add each day 2-3 articles to ezine or ehow pointing to your store.
Do not write sales letters, but rather information, because people do not click through on a sales letter and most of the good article directories are not going to allow you to input a sales letter anyways.
USFREEADS are different!
With USfreeads, you do the actual ads. With a teaser note. You do not want to give them too much information, because the goal of usfreead is to actually click through to your website.
Also, I have found that with usfreeads, my keyword competition needs to be very low! Less than 100-150 everything over that, my ads do not get a lot of traffic.
After you are done with adding content, you are ready to publish your site. This is what I do: I will register my site with google at http://www.google.com/addurl/ I have a free google account. https://www.google.com/accounts/Login
The good free eBook to read on Article Writing was Designed by a friend of mine Jamie Holt and you can read it for free right here.
Let me give you an example of a structured article!
Lets say I wanted to promote baby carrier. Based on some basic research I would decide to write an article on father friendly baby carriers. (Because my keyword searched show that there was 0 competition on those keywords!)’
Based on your product research you will find out which baby carriers are really the ones the dad can use!
So here is the the basic decent article on those products.
Father Friendly Baby Carriers | The Top Three Father Friendly Baby Carriers
Isn’t it interesting how almost all the products for babies are designed with mom in mind? Shouldn’t we have father friendly baby carriers as well? Of course we should fathers are important as much as moms are! So here are the top 3 baby carriers.
The first one is Product name. This is a father friendly baby carrier because the carrier is adjustable. It also comes in the neutral colors such as dark blue, dark gray, black and beige. (continue writing about the product)
Repeat the same for the product two and product three. Make sure you repeat 2 more times your keywords “father friendly baby carrier”.
Even though there are a lot of brands out there the top 3 father friendly baby carriers are Product 1, Product 2, and Product 3! They are adjustable and they come in colors fathers will wear.
Rule of thumb. In first paragraph in second sentence repeat your keywords. Through out your text repeat your keywords at least 2 times but do not input it way too much.
And in your last paragraph repeat the same! Make sure you create a link for product 1, product 2 and product 3 that leads to your website. Obviously I really do not know much about baby carriers but I hope you get the picture.
You can also see that this takes some time.
usfreeads are a lot easier to post and they save you a lot of time. Because with us free ads you post the real ads. Such as Baby Bjorn XL adjustable Baby Carrier. (person who searches for this is probably at the last leg of purchasing cycle!)
You input some basic text into it describing the product and that is it.

We all know the sheer power and efficacy of article marketing. We can even claim without blinking that marketing with articles is the most powerful and most affordable online marketing technique that has been conceptualized since the creation of the World Wide Web.
Simply put, if you’re running an online enterprise, you have to resort to marketing with articles.
This apparent fact notwithstanding, one of the most common questions I get is this: how can I craft an article?
This indicates that though most online businessmen realize that they have to utilize article marketing, not everyone is skilled enough to come up with a made-for-the-internet type of informative content.
Therefore, I have prepared some easy-to-follow steps on how you can write the best kind of article for online marketing purposes.
1. Determine the topic you want to discuss with your article.
2. Don’t attempt to write about a general topic. Narrow it down to a smaller topic that people will be fascinated with. Just to illustrate, don’t tackle the general topic of “dogs.” Find a sub-topic that will capture the interest of the market you will be targeting. Usually, this sub-topic pertains to a particular demand, like “dog training” for dog owners who are having problems with their unruly pets, or “dog grooming” for owners with allergies who can’t live with the smell of their dirty canine friends. You have to find a sub-topic that will click. This is critical. Countless articles fail because they don’t tackle a more particular subject.
3. Since the sub-topic should indicate a need, your article must be able to share an answer. But, depending on the usage of your article, the answer you will share will vary. By way of example, if the article is going to be used to promote a product, then hold on the answer you will share. Your aim, in such a situation, is to provide the impression that you are knowledgeable when it comes to the subject matter, and invite your readers to study what you have to offer. Do not forget this as you craft your piece.
4. Come up with an attention-yanking title that is simple but nevertheless exciting. People will visit your article if they will like its title. If not, no one will get to read what you have prepared.
5. Do not forget that each article has three essential components: the opening, the body, and the conclusion. The opening will introduce what your work is all about. You can inform them of a surprising fact, a revealing statistic, or a humorous anecdote to shake your audience into knowing that indeed, you are the real deal. The body will discuss the information you wish to relay, naturally. And the conclusion will summarize the problem, the given solution, as well as deliver some calls to action (i.e. click my link) if necessary.
6. What is the prescribed length for articles? It’s safe to say that 300 to 750 words would be most excellent!
