Build a mini site around one keyword.  You only need about 7 good posts for this to work:

Choose a low competition keyword with 10,000 or less competing pages (your keyword in quotes)  This keyword needs to be something that people are searching for when they are ready to buy like “best jogging stroller” or a review keyword.

Use your own wordpress blog or blogger.com

Next you are going to write 5 articles a Day with targeted keywords pointing to your site.  I know, I know, sounds like a lot of work but would you rather work at Mcdonalds ?  Submit these 5 articles a day to different article sites so there are different IP’s pointing to your domain for the keyword you choose.  This results in 150 backlinks to your site within one month.

If you chose a low competition keyword I can almost guarantee your site will be on the first page of google within a month.

I am going to give you some places to get some really good backlinks next.  I personally do not really try that hard to get backlinks but since I have some great keywords for my articles already on the top spot on google, I am going to give my articles backlinks to make them stay on the first spot for years to come.
